"We had the vision of an organization that would not just bring companies in from outside the county to foster growth, but also aid businesses that are already here to expand and thrive. So, the HCEDC was formed."
—Glenn Miller, Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative, Inc. President and CEO
To help facilitate the build and move, Homestead turned to the HCEDC. Through the Enterprise Zone program, Homestead saved significant funds on taxes that allowed them to maintain their current workforce, while also added several new employee positions.
"They walked us through the process and paperwork of getting tax abatements for the new building and even though we didn't receive them on the main building, the process served as a good test run for applying for the abatement on the finish shop as well as future expansions."
—Scott Troyer, Jacob and Levi's Owner
“The HCEDC assisted in defining infrastructure needs, coordinating public resources, extending tax incentives and securing grant funding. We’re pleased to have made this investment in Holmes County and appreciate the support we received from HCEDC.”
—Larry Troyer, ProVia CFO
“The Holmes County Economic Development Council creates a great environment for connecting people and resources that need to work together. And they’ve always been responsive, with a quick turnaround, serving area businesses well.”
—James Troyer, Troyer Owner
