Ferra

More than four decades ago, Eli Mast saw an opportunity to better serve local farmers. Armed with a portable welder and a commitment to solving problems, he began traveling to farms to repair equipment on-site, saving customers valuable time and expense. Local farmers appreciated his solution-focused, customer-oriented approach and, over time, the company grew and added services to its offerings. Now, more than 40 years later, the company is operated by Eli’s sons-in-law, Mike Yutzy and Leon Hershberger.

Under their leadership, the company has continued to evolve, expanding beyond its agricultural roots to serve manufacturers, builders and industrial customers. To reflect that broader mission, the steel fabrication division now operates under the name, Ferra, while Mast Attachments continues to manufacture a comprehensive line of machinery attachments. Both divisions continue to remain focused on customization, craftsmanship and quality – principles that have guided the company forward since its earliest days.

By providing custom fabrication, machinery attachments, and design services, the company has helped farmers, manufacturers and builders improve productivity and expand their operations. Its willingness to evolve alongside its customers has made the company an important partner in the continued growth of Holmes County’s agriculture, manufacturing and construction sectors. Through innovation, craftsmanship and a commitment to solving customers’ challenges, Ferra exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to strengthen Holmes County’s economy.
